Way to go! Do these crazy runs (mud runs, zombie courses, midnight romps) motivate you? Why do you love them?

There are muddy events for everyone — from 5K to 12 miles, timed and untimed, and somewhat difficult to super difficult. All are very, very dirty. Some of the most popular series:

Tough Mudder: 36 races a year, 10 to 12 miles long. Untimed, team-focused events founded by Will Dean, former counter-terrorism agent for British Special Forces. LA PUENTE SOCCER HAZING MESS GETS UGLIER

Two of the victims in an alleged sexual hazing incident at a California high school are claiming they were attacked by as many as 10 varsity soccer players and assaulted.

The two alleged victims, whose voices were altered and names not released, told HLN‘s Dr. Drew Pinsky Monday night they were assaulted by more than the four teens who were cited in the incident at La Puente High School east of Los Angeles.

One of the boys told Pinksy he was jumped by the group of at least 10 older players in a storage room and sexually assaulted. He said the teens asked, “Do you want it the easy way or the hard way?”

The second boy said he was also attacked by six or seven players in the storage room, but managed to escape.

On Monday, the four teens were cited in the incident and ordered to appear in court next month. One is 18 and graduated this year, while the others are under 18. 

Detectives have interviewed more than 70 people since school started this fall, Los Angeles County sheriff’s Sgt. Dan Scott told The Associated Press Monday.

The teacher coach for the soccer team was placed on paid leave, Hacienda La Puente School District Superintendent Barbara Nakaoka told reporters.

Scott said detectives were aware of the suspension, but detectives so far had no proof of his involvement.

The alleged hazing occurred last spring before school ended for the summer.

Detectives have talked to people associated with the school as far back as 2003, Scott said.

“But there is no indication anything occurred that long ago. We are looking at the last couple of years,” he said.

Attorney Brian Claypool held a news conference Monday saying he was representing four students. He said the players had just made the varsity team and were hazed by older team members.

LA is getting closer to NFL football. The Los Angeles City Planning Commission voted unanimously today to approve the development agreement for a proposed downtown football stadium.

The trend, explained: Think of CrossFit as a supercharged boot camp that combines high-intensity cardio and resistance training. Conducted in a class setting at CrossFit gyms (crossfit.com), a typical routine might involve swinging kettlebells, flipping tractor tires (yep, real ones), throwing weighted balls against a wall, and doing body-weight moves, such as squats (with or without dumbbells) and push-ups. Classes are usually small—5 to 20 people—and last from 20 minutes to an hour. The workout is different every time, so you don’t get bored, and fans report rapid weight loss and muscle toning.

Expert opinion: “CrossFit can be an intense workout,” says Los Angeles trainer Kristin Anderson. “You’re focusing on endurance, agility, power, and strength in one session, and all require different things from your muscles.” While you work at your own pace, the group atmosphere adds a feeling of friendly competition. However, some experts worry that this can lead to injury, especially if a person pushes herself too hard to keep up with the group.

The bottom line: If you’re already in great shape, CrossFit is a challenging way to get even fitter. Beginners should take it slow, though. Most CrossFit gyms require newbies to complete a fundamentals course before joining regular classes.

Have you tried CrossFit or Boot Camp?  My sister-n-law, Step and her husband love it.  I’ve seen results from both classes so why not?
